Elijah Beddingfield Obituary

Elijah T. Beddingfield NORFOLK - Elijah Theodore Beddingfield, 83, passed away March 2, 2009, at his home. Elijah was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and Korea. He also retired from civil service. He was a member of the G.E.A.S. Club and the N.A.R.T.U. Organization. Elijah was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Eva Maria Beddingfield; three daughters, Maggie Feickert of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Shyril Hempel of Germany, Jackie Kennedy of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, Teresa, Susan, Michael, David, Carl, Jolene and Patrick; and three great-grandchildren, Michell, Darian and Dillon. A memorial graveside will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beth Sholom Home of Eastern Virginia, 6401 Auburn Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

Theodore was at the top of my list, as a favorite uncle! I always enjoyed his war stories and most of all the wonderful family he married into. He adored Eva, Shyril, Maggie, and Jackie and all the grandchildren. He will surely be missed by many!
