Janette Hicks NORFOLK - Janette Hicks, 85, of Chesapeake, passed away March 5, 2009. Born Nov. 15, 1923, to the late Clarence and Elsie Hall, in Saltville, Va., she is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Matthew Hicks; two children, Doris Montague and Jimmy Hicks; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was an active member of Faith Temple Freewill Baptist Church and a former teacher for the Virginia Beach school system. The family will receive relatives and friends in a celebration of Jeanette's life Sunday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Chapel, 6329 East Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502.
