Lucille Perry Obituary

Lucille Perry PORTSMOUTH - Lucille Perry, 90, of the 1900 block of Green St., died March, 1, 2009, in Virginia Beach Health Care. She was a retired nurse at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center with more than 30 years of service. Born in Gates County, North Carolina, she was the widow of David Perry. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church where she was a former choir member. She was also a member of the church's Women's Board, Nurse's Unit and Missionaries. She was predeceased by her son, Sherman Hudson Perry Sr.; grandson, Keith Hudson; and siblings. She is survived by her four grandchildren, Gwendolyn Odom, Sherron Roberts, Angela Hudson and Sherman Hudson Jr.; great-grandchildren, Tamara, Marshall, Nathaniel, Jermaine, Nikki, Brandi and Tameika; a host of great-great- grandchildren, other relatives and friends; and special relative, Veronica Hudson. A funeral will be held Monday at noon in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Earls presiding. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Viewing will begin Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The body will be in the church Monday at 11 a.m. The family will assemble at the funeral home Monday at 11:15 a.m. Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham St., is in charge.
