Laila was the best friend a person could ask for. I remember when I would come to play practice and be very tired and unhappy some days. Laila would always smile at me and find some way to make me happy. I think she did that for everyone. She was such a great actress and a joy to work with. I miss her so much, and I think about her all of the time. Even though our time together was somewhat short, I am still glad that I could spend that time with her. My condolences to the Serpe family and everyone that knew her.

Dear Richard and Linda:
It was about 10 days ago that my daughters and I had the pleasure of watching Laila in her school play. I kept my eye on her the entire time because she was absolutely adorable -- her sweetness was so evident on the stage. I also looked back to see her very proud Daddy.

We were so very sadden to learn of Laila. Just her name brings such a warm smile to all of our faces. What an exceptional young lady she had become. I remember her playing on the NCS playground and always having such a wonderful time. She will always be with us as we look at the first light of day, as we look at the ocean's glimmering water, she will be in the beautiful colors of the setting sun and one of the brightest stars in the night sky. Yes, that is how we will remember Laila and know she will always be with us.
