Shaul Yitzhak Obituary

Shaul G. Yitzhak Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Shaul Guri Yitzhak Sr. passed away March 5, 2009, in Virginia Beach. He was born March 4, 1947, and later joined the military when he turned 18. He retired after 24 years and went immediately into civil service. After retiring, he went on to become an emergency dispatcher for the City of Virginia Beach. Even though most people didn't like that he spoke his mind, everyone looked to him for guidance and for the truth. He was loved by those who knew him. There weren't many people in his life that didn't appreciate Shaul for who he was. He is survived by his loving wife, Nerissa C. Stephensen; his mother-in-law, Felisa M. Cureg; his three daughters, Linette D. Perez, Edna R. Stephensen and Amy R. Ortiz; his son, Shaul G. Yitzhak Jr.; and his grandson, Luis A. Ortiz. He had one son-in-law, Miguel A Ortiz, who he always said he was so proud to have. He loved his family very much and the feeling is returned 100 times over. He will be missed so much, but everyone is glad that he is in a better place. We love you Dad!! H.D. Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, handled arrangements. My thoughts and prayers are with your family suffering from such a great loss.. Shaul was a real good friend who is missed very much.. He and I worked together on midnight shift in which we kidded around alot to make the night go by and relieve the stress from the job.. I really enjoyed working with someone who spoke his mind and didnt care who liked him or not.. Shaul, my friend, I miss you!! Wish we could have kept in touch, but thats a part of life that happens to all of us.. I hope you have found peace with yourself, knowing that you did everything you could for your family that you left behind.. You ole goat, gonna miss not being able to talk to ya now and then.. To your family, remember all the good times and memories you had with such a wonderful man who always wanted what was best for his family.. If there is anything at all that my husband and I can do for you please dont hesitate to call me.. God bless all of you!! And, Shaul, my friend! Behave yourself and keep speakin your mind!

Shaul was greatly missed by his family at VB911. He was someone who you could always depend on for an informed and well thought out opinion. He was a valued member and well liked.

To Shauls' family. Shaul was truely a special person. He was never afraid to speak his mind, regardless of the moment! He was missed from midnights when he retired, he will be missed even more now. I loved football season, especially when the Seahawks had played. It was a fun time to banter back and forth about the various teams, who had won and who had lost especially if his team was the topic. Me, I am a Redskins fan, and he never let me live it down. He always stuck by his time, regardless of how they were playing. We all know how much he loved his family. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.
