Luberta Carrington Obituary

Luberta Harris Carrington CHESAPEAKE - Luberta Harris Carrington, 82, of the 1800 block of Campostella Road, departed this life March 5, 2009. Born in Virginia Beach, she was employed with Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home for 19 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Greater St. Andrews AME Church where she served in the Floral Club and she was a member of the Good Samaritan Lodge. She was predeceased by her daughter, Hilda R. Johnson. Survivors include three daughters, Verazola D. Hargrove of Norfolk, Queen Esther C. Brown (Lloyd) and Celestine C. Sparrow of Chesapeake; one son, Herman Carrington Jr. (Yvonne) of Portsmouth; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Greater St. Andrews AME Church. Interment will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. We invite you to send condolences to the family's guestbook at www.pretlowandsons.com.

To Herman Jr., Queenie, Verzola Celestine and the entire Carrington
family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Beloved Mother. I will keep you and yours in my prayers as God lightens your pain , grief and despair

My Mother ( Alease Carrington) and I (Elmo Linnette) are so sorry for the lost of one of our family mmbers. May God bless and keep you all. I visited Mrs. LUBERTA as often as I could while she was in the nursing home.
