Mary Anderson Obituary

Mary Jo L. Anderson CHESAPEAKE - Mary Jo Lawrence Anderson, formerly a Chesapeake resident, went to be with the Lord June 9, 2009. She passed away in a Florida hospice center surrounded by her family at the age of 64. She was born Dec. 18, 1944, the daughter of the late James Lawrence. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend to many. She was predeceased by three brothers, David Lawrence, Jimmy Lawrence and Bobby Hunter. She is survived by her mother, Anna Marie Ingram of Chesapeake; a daughter, Bobbie Jo of Florida and a son, Guy of South Carolina; two granddaughters, Sydney and Savannah. Also, she is survived by her very loving and caring husband, Andy Anderson; four sisters and six brothers; and a large host of nieces and nephews. A service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 20, in the Debaun Memorial Baptist Church, 1510 Campostella Road, Chesapeake. Family would like to also invite guests to join them after the service at 1004 Park Ave., Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, a donation was requested to be sent to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. Please sign the family's online register book at www.broadusraines.com. To Andy, Bobbie Jo, and Guy, We have all lost someone dear to us. But someone who will always remain in our hearts. Someone who had a great smile, laughter, and family. She will be missed. My thoughts are with you always.
