William Jones Obituary

William P. Jones PORTSMOUTH - William P. "Mope" Jones, 85, of the 2700 block of Barclay Ave., passed away June 15, 2009, in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth. William was a member of the New Garden of Prayer IV Church of God In Christ, Portsmouth. He leaves to cherish his memory five daughters, Naomi D. Jones, Jennifer Jones (Rudy), Georgia Strambler, Pamela Wylie (Harold), and Maria Jones; six sons, Danny Jones (Karen), Johnnie Jones (Myra), Charles Jones, Michael Jones (Tonora), Ronnie Jones (Chatay), and Robert Saunders (Laura); a sister, Elnora Jones; a brother, Frank Jones; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. William was predeceased by his wife, Geneva Jones and son, William A. Jones. A funeral will be held Friday, June 19, at 1 p.m. in New Garden of Prayer IV COGIC, Portsmouth. Dr. James Moore will officiate. Burial site will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Portsmouth. Steele-Bullock Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Viewing will be held today from noon to 7 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at 1546 Wool Ave., Portsmouth, for the procession to the church. Send condolences to www.steelebullockfuneralhome.com.
