Isaac C. Knox Jr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Isaac C. Knox Jr., 70, of the 300 block of Bernice Place, passed away June 19, 2009, in Sentara Bayside Hospital. He was born Jan. 13, 1939, to the late Isaac C. Knox Sr. and Nassie E. Knox- Phillips in Princess Anne County. Isaac graduated from Princess Ann County Training High School. He was employed at Hudson Enterprises for 37 years of service and was an amateur boxer. Isaac was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Knox; his father-in-law, Herbert A. Lofton Sr.; and his mother-in-law, Mary Hazel Parks Lofton. He is survived by his daughter, Tonya E. Knox-Champion; sister, Vivian K. Jones; grandson, Michael Isaac Champion II; brothers-in-law, Earnest Jones Sr., Prentice Lofton, Herbert A. Lofton Jr., Robert S. Vaughter Sr., Deleak Lofton; sisters-in- law, Annette Vaughter, Sharon A. Lofton, Mary Lofton; nieces, Alicia Williams (Douglas), Renee Lofton; nephews, Earnest Jones Jr., Darrell Kornegay, Jermaine Lofton (Wendy), Robert Vaughter Jr. (Shavonn), Curtis Vaughter (Shirley), Rahmel Lofton, Curtis Lofton (Sherita "Rita"), and Jonathan Lofton; and a host of grand-nieces, -nephews, family and friends. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Ave., officiated by Dr. E.M. Scott. Interment will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 316 Bernice Place one hour prior to the service for the procession to the chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
