Eric Gilliam Obituary

Eric D. Gilliam NORFOLK - Eric Delmont Gilliam, 42, entered into eternal rest with the Lord June 19, 2009. He was born Sept. 13, 1966, to the late Pastella Gilliam and Steve Cross in Norfolk. Eric was predeceased by his grandmother, Nettie Wilson. He worked for A & W Contractors for more than 20 years. He enjoyed golf, riding motorcycles, driving fast cars, landscaping and spending time with his family. He was a Christian man who loved helping others and bringing out the best in them. Eric will be truly missed and forever be remembered. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Venancia; his daughter, Laniyah Gilliam; his sister, Regina Gilliam; his brother, Leonard Gilliam; his niece, Shaquitta; two godfathers, Jay Archbell III and Robert Byrum; and a host of other family members. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.

Eric will truly be missed at Ski Boats Unltd. We enjoyed it so much when he was there because he always made us laugh and always had a wild and crazy story to tell. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends.
