James Ford Obituary

James Edward Ford PORTSMOUTH - James Edward Ford, 69, passed away June 24, 2009, in Chesapeake. James was the son of the late Peter and Robbie Ford and the widower of Sylvia R. Ford. He retired from Verizon as a field engineer and was a member of Elizabeth Manor Country Club. He is survived by two daughters, Amy M. Ford of Virginia Beach and Elizabeth F. Croce and her husband Alfred of Long Island, N.Y.; two aunts, Jane Phillips of Martinsville, Va., and Margie Landers of Midlothian, Va.; an uncle, Bob Hornbuckle of Fredericksburg; three cousins, Cynthia Dunlo and husband Jim of Chesapeake, Madlyn Mastin and husband Danny of Spotsylvania, Va., and Melinda Hightower and husband Jeff of Charlotte, N.C.; his close friends at Elizabeth Manor; and grand dogs, Max and Bella. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Mercer officiating. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Hope Haven Children's Home, 3000 North Landing Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
