Mary Lowe Obituary

Mary Letha Lowe VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary A. Letha Lowe, 93, passed away peacefully June 25, 2009. Mrs. Lowe was born May 2, 1916, to the late Caleb and Maudie Cartwright in Princess Anne County, Virginia. She was a retired seamstress, a longtime member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, and a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star No. 173 Kempsville Lodge. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed. Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Linwood "Pete" Lowe. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Linda Harrison and husband Larry and Ann Bowdoin and husband Dan; a son, Leo White and wife Ruth; a brother, Walter Cartwright and wife Margaret; two sisters, Bertie Flora and Alice Ansell, all of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Heath Parker and wife Donna and Larry Harrison Jr. and wife Kim; three granddaughters, Ann Marie Dick and husband Darren, Tammy and Adele; two great-grandsons, Wade and Kyle Parker; and four great-granddaughters, Ashley and Sydney Harrison and Arwyn and Laurel Dick. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 29, in Calvary Presbyterian Church, 150 Kempsville Road, Norfolk, VA 23502. Burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church. Please share your love and condolences with the family at www.mem.com.
