Theophlise Lawrence Obituary

Theophlise Lawrence SUFFOLK - Theophlise "Buddy" Lawrence, 80, of the 2100 block of Florida Ave., died Thursday, June 25, 2009, in his residence. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Washington and Emma Lawrence. He was a widower of Sally Lawrence. Mr. Lawrence was an Army veteran. He retired from the Suffolk City School system after 35 years of service as a bus driver. He was the owner of Atlantic Ice Company. He was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Patrice Weaver (Andre) and Joyce Worrell, both of Suffolk and Valerie Darden (Joe) of Franklin, Va.; one son, Rodney Hart (Juanita) of Suffolk; six grandchildren; one special friend, Mildred Coles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral will be at noon Tuesday, June 30, in Tabernacle Christian Church, 2500 East Washington St., Suffolk, officiated by Dr. Carlton Upton. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
