Carlton Blanchard

Carlton W. Blanchard VIRGINIA BEACH - Carlton Weston Blanchard, 97, of First Colonial Inn in Virginia Beach, passed away June 30, 2009, in his home. A native of St. Paul, N.C., he was the son of the late John C. and Margaret W. Blanchard. He was predeceased by his wife, Stella Moore Blanchard. He was a retail merchant for Western Auto in Mathews, Va. He was member of the Westhampton Masonic Lodge No. 302 in Richmond, Va. He was an active member of the Mathews Ruritan Club and Mathews Baptist Church, where he was a life deacon. He was most recently attending Great Neck Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Towers and her husband John; two grandchildren, John Blanchard Towers and his wife Sierra and Joseph Barber Towers and wife Sandra; six great-grandchildren and two nephews, Robert S. Chestnutt and wife Marianna and Thomas C. Chestnutt and wife Carole. A memorial service will be held at First Colonial Inn Thursday at 6:30 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
