Robert Lee Smith PORTSMOUTH - Robert Lee Smith, 60, of the 1100 block of Lakeview Drive and a former resident of Houston, Texas, died June 28, 2009. Born in Portsmouth, he was a member of Lakewood Church with Joel Osteen, Houston, and a former member of Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was a graduate of I.C. Norcom High School, Class of 1967, and an insurance agent. He is survived by one daughter, Dana Smith; one son, Darius Smith; mother, Virginia C. Smith; five sisters, Corine Agner (Arthur), Virginia Perry, Eunice Brooks, Vashti Williams (Larry), Cecilia Smith; and three brothers, Wendell Smith, Alonzo Smith (Paula), and Terrance Smith (Tressie). He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Lee Smith. A funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Noble Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Jones presiding. Burial will be held in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin today at noon. The family will be at 169 Choate St., Portsmouth. The body will be in the church Friday at 10 a.m. Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham St., is in charge.
