Virginia Jones Obituary

Virginia Fitzgerald Jones TOWNSEND - Mrs. Virginia Fitzgerald Jones, 84, wife of the late Francis I. Jones and a resident of Townsend, Va., passed away Friday, July 3, 2009, in her residence. A native of Cheriton, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur F. Fitzgerald and the late Fannie Hamilton Fitzgerald. She was a retired bookkeeper and a devoted member of Capeville United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Francis I. Jones Jr. and Dr. David F. Jones and his wife Traci, both of Townsend; two brothers, Wade Fitzgerald and his wife Martha of Cheriton, Dr. Grayson Fitzgerald and his wife Pat of Highland Springs, Va.; two granddaughters, Caroline and Annie Jones of Townsend; a sister-in-law, Maggie J. Erwin of Emerald Isle, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Wilbur F. Fitzgerald Jr. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Cape Charles Cemetery with the Rev. Elizabeth A. Lutz and the Rev. Jack D. Pruitt officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Capeville United Methodist Church, c/o H.H. Scott Jr., 4301 Townsend Drive, Cape Charles, VA 23310. I extend my deepest sympathy. I think this is the Virginia Jones I knew from at one time from the Norfolk area. Her huband was called Lee and they were both friends of my deceased parents (Anne and John Elder) I have fond memories of Virginia! Your family will be in my prayers,
