Virginia Fitzgerald Jones TOWNSEND - Mrs. Virginia Fitzgerald Jones, 84, wife of the late Francis I. Jones and a resident of Townsend, Va., passed away Friday, July 3, 2009, in her residence. A native of Cheriton, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur F. Fitzgerald and the late Fannie Hamilton Fitzgerald. She was a retired bookkeeper and a devoted member of Capeville United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Francis I. Jones Jr. and Dr. David F. Jones and his wife Traci, both of Townsend; two brothers, Wade Fitzgerald and his wife Martha of Cheriton, Dr. Grayson Fitzgerald and his wife Pat of Highland Springs, Va.; two granddaughters, Caroline and Annie Jones of Townsend; a sister-in-law, Maggie J. Erwin of Emerald Isle, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Wilbur F. Fitzgerald Jr. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Cape Charles Cemetery with the Rev. Elizabeth A. Lutz and the Rev. Jack D. Pruitt officiating.
