Edward Griggs Obituary

Edward L. Griggs VIRGINIA BEACH - Edward Lee Griggs, 53, passed away serenely in his home Friday, July 3, 2009. Originally from Colby, Kan., he was born to the late Wilbur C. Griggs and Joan P. Pochop Griggs. Ed was a 1973 graduate of Colby High School and went on to serve his country for four years in the United States Navy. For more than 20 years, he had worked for Mechanical Resources Incorporated. Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Shelley M. Lester of Portsmouth and Amber L. Griggs of Virginia Beach; his son, Andrew L. Griggs of Norfolk; two sisters, Rebecca Griggs and Bernice Skiles; two brothers, William Griggs and Gerald Griggs, all of Colby, Kan. He will be sadly missed by many, especially two of his closest friends, Lisa Covey and Ed Jefferson, as they shared many great times together. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, at 3 p.m. in West Park Church of Christ, Portsmouth. Cremation Society of Virginia, Hampton Roads office, is assisting the family.

The NNSY Contracting office is very sorry to hear of your loss. Ed did a great job working for MRI and providing services to the shipyard. He will be missed. Take care and know he will be in our thoughts.
