Ralph Wilson Obituary

Ralph Lee Wilson CHESAPEAKE - Ralph Lee Wilson of Chesapeake and Edenton, N.C., died peacefully in his home Thursday, July 9, 2009, at the age of 76. Lee graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk in 1951 and entered the United States Navy. Upon completion of his tour of service with the Navy, Lee attended The College of William and Mary, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He was employed by the Department of Defense at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a chemist for the remainder of his career, retiring at the age of 55. Lee was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Poole Wilson and his father, Milton L. Wilson in 1969. He had a great love of classical music, old movies, computers, plants and his home at Nixon's Beach, N.C. Those mourning his passing include Dr. James E. Steele, Shirley Parker, Jim Jennings, Nellie Cox, Jean Kane, Terry and Margie Fager, Jesse Fager, Kathryn and Larry Hedgepeth, Smitty and Cathy Whitaker, Joe, Jill, Joseph, Jenny and Tristan Anderson, Dorothy Conklin and George H., his computer guru. A kinder, gentler man the world has never known. Services will be private. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.altmeyer.com. Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, is in charge of the arrangements.

Ralph Wilson was a wonderful man that I met through my father, George Horton, in the Commodore 64 computer club. Rest in peace.
