Archie DeBaun Obituary

Archie W. DeBaun Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Archie Wilber DeBaun Sr., 78, passed away July 13, 2009, in a local hospital. Mr. DeBaun was a native of Norfolk County and the son of the late Oscar Smith and Annie DeBaun. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Venuto and Jeanette DeBaun. Mr. DeBaun was the founder of DeBaun and Associates, P.C. and was a member of AICPA and the Virginia Society of CPAs and its Tidewater chapter. He was a charter member of the Hampton Roads Rotary Club and a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, Agape class. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Verona B. DeBaun; one son, Archie "Will" DeBaun Jr. and his wife Marie of Virginia Beach; one daughter, Tina DeBaun Tate and her husband Arthur of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Irene Carpenter of Suffolk, Carolyn Powers of Currituck, N.C., and Renee Humphries of Lynchburg, Va.; and four grandchildren, Kelsey, Tripp, Hayley, and Reagan. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018, or to the Hampton Roads Rotary Club, P.O. Box 66123, Virginia Beach, VA 23466-6123, or to the Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, 212 19th St., Virginia Beach, VA 23451. Online condolences may be made at www.hdoliver.com.

Verona, Tina, & Will
Steve & I were saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Uncle Wilbur while we were out of town. Please excuse our absence from the memorial service but know that you were all in our thoughts & prayers then, & remain so now as you grieve. May God comfort you all during this difficult time.
