Alan Lewis Hoffman VIRGINIA BEACH - Alan Lewis Hoffman, 77, of the 2400 block of Ocean Shore Crescent, died Aug. 2, 2009 in a local hospital. He was a native of Norfolk and a lifelong resident of Hampton Roads. He was the son of the late Harry and Shirley Abraham Hoffman and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Renee' Ornoff Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman was the developer of the Golden Triangle, the first high-rise hotel in Norfolk in 1958, home of "The Nations Room." This development later became known as the Holiday Inn Scope. He later developed the Royal Mace Apartments in Ocean View, Newport Towers in Newport News, Fort Nelson Towers in Portsmouth, Lakewood Plaza in Norfolk, and Thoroughgood Colony in Virginia Beach. He was also a licensed securities broker/ dealer and owned Regency Financial Corporation. Mr. Hoffman attended the University of Miami and was a member of Temple Israel and its men's club. Survivors include his three daughters, Victoria Jo Hoffman of Atlanta, Melissa H. Bernstein of Virginia Beach, and Allison H. Wilcox and her husband Jason of Atlanta; two sisters, Muriel H. Green and her husband Allan of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Dee Dee H. Chovitz and her husband Meyer of Virginia Beach; and five grandchildren, Joshua Ahlzadeh, Brittany Bell, Aaron Ahlzadeh, Alexis Ahlzadeh and Jordan Wilcox. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rabbi Michael Panitz officiating. The family will sit shiva following the funeral and Wednesday through Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
