Clarine Tyler PORTSMOUTH - Clarine Tyler, 83, of the 700 block of Hancock Ave., died Friday, July 31, 2009, in Maryview Medical Center. She was born in Aulander, N.C., to Catherlean Wiggins and John Auntie Bazemore. She retired in 1984 as a domestic engineer after 30 years of service. She was a member of Third Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women's Guild, Sunday school class No. 12 and Centennial, the August Birthday Group, and the Female Usher Board No. 2. Clarine was also a member of Cavalier Manor Senior Organization and Martin Luther King Breakfast. She was a graduate of Bertie County High School. Surviving are: husband, Willie Tyler; one son, Sidney Tyler Sr. (Margretia) of Portsmouth; four sisters, Erma Ford of Portsmouth, Evora Haskins (James), Elneray Martin, Pauline Williams (Phil) of Baltimore; two brothers, John A. Bazemore Jr. (Bonnie) of Philadelphia, Linwood Bazemore Sr. (Deloise) of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Ssgt. E-5 Sidney Tyler Jr. (Yaisha) of Newport News and Maria Parker (James) of Dallas, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Malachi and Malia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Clifton Bazemore. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Third Baptist Church. Pastor Joe B. Fleming will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
