Christian Barbato Obituary

Christian James Barbato CHESAPEAKE - Christian James Barbato passed away Aug. 2, 2009, in Oak Grove Care Center, Chesapeake, after losing his battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Missy; daughter, Misty and her fiancé William Perris; two granddaughters, Ameera and Neynah; mother-in-law, June Byrd and brother-in-law, James McLamb, all of Chesapeake; also his sister, Julia and her husband Roy Hood of North Carolina; longtime friend, Danny Beecher and friend, Geary Perris. Memorial services are pending. Cremation Society of Virginia, Hampton Roads office, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.cremate.org.

Although I haven't seen or talked with Chris for years the memory of his and Julie's friendship is one that I will hold on to all of my life.We were merchant seaman together but good friends long before that. My heartfelt sympathy to his family.I hope God will ease your pain of his passing.He was a good friend and a great guy and I am saddened just knowing he's gone.

In this time of sorrow, know that God heels the broken hearted. Words can not decsribe your pain. I am a shop 38 Marine Machinist At Norfolk Naval Shipyard. I never worked with Christian but we met on 2 occasions and I got the impression that he was a person easy to get along with. My family and I send our sympathy and love. God Bless You.
