Wallace Baughman Obituary

Wallace Baughman CHESAPEAKE - Wallace Edward "Eddie" Baughman, 71, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, in a local hospital. Born April 5, 1938, in Missouri, he was the son of Wallace and Alma Baughman. Eddie retired as a heavy equipment mechanic for Portsmouth Marine Terminal after 26 years. He loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the Honda Riders of Tidewater. Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Lois I. Baughman and a daughter, Mary Baughman. He is survived by three daughters, Lucy Baughman, Tresa Sears and Connie Brown; a stepdaughter, Laura Case; two stepsons, Larry and Charles Akers Jr.; three sisters, Lois McCurdy, Jenny Windsor and Gay Scott; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Tim Piland. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or CHKD. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
