Claire Tucker Obituary

Claire B. Tucker SUFFOLK - Claire Bradshaw Tucker, 83, died Aug. 11, 2009, at Lake Prince Woods. Born in Nansemond County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Lafayette and Josie Irene H. Bradshaw. She was the widow of her husband of 54 years, William Percy Tucker, and a sister of the late Sadie B. Copeland and Lafayette Bradshaw Jr. Mrs. Tucker was employed as secretary for the Community College System. She was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Garrett and husband Jim of Suffolk and nephew, T. Graham Copeland of Franklin. A funeral will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Liberty Spring Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Allen Lancaster. A memorial services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Portsmouth Center at Lake Prince Woods by the Rev. Mary Henderson. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice or to Liberty Spring Christian Church. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com. The family would like to thank the staff at Lake Prince Woods, especially her sitters, Elizabeth Jenkins and Shawn Daniels, for their help and kindness.

Susan, We were very saddened to hear of your mother's passing. She was a wonderful person. We always enjoyed your mom and dad as our neighbors and friends.
