Daniel Tormohlen Obituary

Daniel Philip Tormohlen II VIRGINIA BEACH - Daniel Philip Tormohlen II, 64, formerly of Franklin, Va., died Aug. 13, 2009, in his favorite place, Sandbridge Beach, Virginia. Born in Fort Sill, Okla., he was the son of Ruth Jordan Tormohlen and the late Daniel Philip Tormohlen. Dan retired from Union Camp and was a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church. His retirement "job" was working at Disney World while he and his wife, Joni realized their dream of traveling around the country in their RV. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Joanne Tormohlen; two daughters, Andrea Willis and husband Troy Willis of Perry, Ga., and Erin Tormohlen of Virginia Beach; and his mother, Ruth Tormohlen of Freeport, Ill. He is further survived by his two sisters, Judy Hinz of Sioux Falls, S.D., Rebecca Legan of Pueblo, Colo.; and one brother, Dave Tormohlen of Tomahawk, Wis. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, the lights of his life, Lauren and Alex Willis of Perry, Ga. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m., both at Franklin Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Franklin Presbyterian Church, 405 Lee St. Franklin, VA 23851 or CaringBridge, P.O. Box 131447, Houston, TX 77219-1447. Cremation Society of Virginia, Hampton Roads Office, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.cremate.org.

I just wanted to extend my condolences on the passing of Dan. I worked with him at Union Camp and also at Gordon Paper when he was doing some consultant work for us. He was always so good to both work for and with. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
