Garland Terry Obituary

Garland Terry EWING, N.J. - Dr. Garland Terry, dentist, 82, passed away Aug. 2, 2009. Dr. Garland was a graduate of Ohio State University and Howard University's Dental School. He served in the Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His last assignment was at Fort Dix, N.J., where he served in the Dental Corps. Garland was an avid golfer and he was a member of the Capitol City Golf Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Hattie Terry; five brothers and one sister. Dr. Garland's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by his wife, Marie; one son, Michael; a granddaughter, Kelly Byard (Lashawn); two great-grandchildren, Madison and Jayden; two sisters, Doris Pollock and Jacqueline Smith; five brothers, Thomas (Eunice), Wayland (Myrtle), Carlton (Cynthia), Reginald (Joyce) and Curtis; a special nephew, Ronald (Rosalind); several nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends, two special friends, Charles Sears (Kathy) of Columbus, Ohio, and James Rodgers of Trenton, N.J. A funeral was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, N.J. Calling hours were from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment Ewing Cemetery.
