Moses Cribb Obituary

Moses W. Cribb NORFOLK - Retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Moses W. Cribb, beloved husband, father, granddaddy and friend, passed away Aug. 18, 2009. Moses was born Dec. 15, 1935, in Fayetteville, N.C. Moses is survived by his best friend and love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Eleanor "Ann" Cribb; his children, Wayne and Pam Cribb, Dean and Tricia Cribb, and Kari Cribb Osborne; and his grandchildren, Kenna, Danielle, Kaitlin, Haleigh, Matthew, Brittany, and Michael Cribb and Will Osborne. Moses was predeceased by his daughter, Carol Ann Cribb; his parents, Ralph and Shadie Cribb; and his brothers, Pete and Jack Cribb. Moses retired from the United States Navy after 27 years of service. He then worked as chief electrician at DePaul Hospital. He was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Norfolk. A celebration of life service conducted by Pastor Eric Thomas and the Rev. Dick Baker will be held Friday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Norfolk. The burial with Navy honors will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A reception will follow at First Baptist Church of Norfolk. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Moses be made to Gideon's International, P.O. Box 12271, Norfolk, VA 23541.
