Victoria Jean Freeman NORFOLK - Victoria Jean Freeman, 60, of Brooke Avenue, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, in a local hospital. She was a native of Norfolk. She was the daughter of the late Herbert F. Freeman and Helen Klein Freeman. Ms. Freeman graduated from Granby High School and Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. She received her law degree from Whittier College, California. She entered private practice as an attorney in Los Angeles and retired and moved back to Norfolk 10 years ago. She was the owner and creator of Story Highway, an internet- based business for the promotion of creative writing and poetry. She was active in the Republican Party in Virginia and many charitable organizations. Survivors include her brother, Eric J. Freeman, M.D., and his wife Ragan of Norfolk; sister, Valerie Samsell and her husband Darryl of Greensboro, N.C. She is also survived by her nephew, Brian Samsell and his fiancée Erin Thomas; her nieces, Alexandra and Ariel Samsell; and many loving and caring friends. A funeral will be held in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Friday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. Rabbi Michael Panitz will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
