Sadie Copeland Obituary

Sadie E. Copeland SUFFOLK - Sadie E. Copeland, 79, of the 1900 block of Copeland Road, died Aug. 16, 2009, in Autumn Care of Suffolk. Born in Suffolk, she was a business owner and a member of Pentecostals of Suffolk. Survivors include her husband, Ocie Copeland; one daughter, Vernice Hudgins (Alexander) of Suffolk; one son, Lonzia Copeland (Valorie) of Greenville, Miss.; six sisters, Minnie Holley, Edna Skeeter, Queenie Kindred (Bishop John H.), all of Suffolk, Betty Stevenson (David) of Carrollton, Va., Margaret Boone of Chesapeake, Gloria Deloatch of Portsmouth; two brothers, Thomas Copeland (Rita) of Franklinton, N.C., David Copeland of Williton, Calif.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one aunt, Rosa Lee Watford of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and sister-in-law, Inez Copeland. A funeral will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausolem, Suffolk, with Bishop William Hall presiding. Viewing will be today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The family will be at Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham St., from 6 to 7 p.m., and at the residence, 2007 Regency Drive, Suffolk, at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
