Samuel Johnson Obituary

Samuel V. Johnson Jr. GLOUCESTER - Samuel Vone Johnson Jr., loving husband, father and friend, died Aug. 19, 2009, at the age of 58 after a courageous battle of nine years with lung cancer at his home. He was retired from HRSD after 30 years. Sam loved to deer hunt. Survivors include his wife, Julie Johnson; two sons, David Archer and Roscoe Archer IV; daughter, Kimberly Roberts; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Ross, Sam, Dylan, Hayley and Jeremy; three sisters, Gwen Jenkins, Martha Midgett and Linda Randall; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral officiated by the Rev. Roger D. Johnson will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday on Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Jules, we are so deeply saddened by sammy's departure. we will miss his laughter and jokes and smiles in the office. He was with out a doubt a true character.
