Elizabeth Walburgh

Elizabeth C. Walburgh ASHEVILLE - Elizabeth Carol Walburgh, 87, of the Crowfields community, Asheville, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at her residence. A native of upstate New York, Mrs. Walburgh was a daughter of the late Clifford and Jenny Wheeler Maurice. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Eric Walburgh, who died in 1993, and by her grandson, Christopher Walburgh. Mrs. Walburgh was a longtime volunteer at the Lewis Rathbun Center, and was a member of Leadership Asheville for Seniors. Mrs. Walburgh is survived by her sons, Dr. Eric Walburgh and wife Regenia of Asheville, and J. Thomas Walburgh and wife Sharon of Southern Pines, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Walburgh and Evan Walburgh. Her family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
