Johnnie Deloatch Obituary

Johnnie L. Deloatch PORTSMOUTH - Johnnie L. Deloatch, 69, of Nicholson St., died Aug. 28, 2009, in Sentara Obici Hospital. He retired from the Public Works Department of the City of Norfolk. He was the widower of Janice Deloatch. He was a member of New Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Faye Hall (Arnold) and Cynthia Gray; one son, Juan Deloatch; one stepson, William Jones; five sisters, Ada Deloatch, Barbara Harris, Helen Wright, Gloria Jackson, and Evelyn Deloatch; two brothers, Roy Deloatch and Anthony Deloatch; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in New Mount Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael D. Chance officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Family will be at the residence. The body will be in church Tuesday at 1 p.m. Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham St., Portsmouth, is in charge.
