Henry Allen Obituary

Henry Allen NORFOLK - Henry Allen, 82, of the 600 block of Michigan Ave., passed away Aug. 27, 2009, at his residence. He was born Feb. 5, 1927, to the late Lucille and Henry Allen in Baton Rouge, La. Henry was a member of Living Faith Church of God in Christ. He retired from the U.S. Navy and also from Naval Supply Center. He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Daisy Allen; two sons, Glen Allen (Barbara) and Rodney Allen; four sisters, Mabel Taylor, Louise Houston, Betty Allen and Pearl Taylor; two brothers, Charles Allen and James Allen; four grandchildren, Sonya Allen, Nicole Allen, Darrell Allen and Rico Morgan; six great-grandchildren, including Diamond Allen and Cheytorria Carol; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in New Bethel Church of God in Christ, 4700 Little John Drive. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at the home one hour prior to service for procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel, is in charge.
