Mary Stanfield

Mary Louise Stanfield NORFOLK - Mary Louise Tebault Stanfield, 99, went to be with her Lord Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009. Born in Elizabeth City, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Nora Haskett Tebault and George Tebault and the widow of Charles Stanfield. Mrs. Stanfield was a longtime and active member of Ghent United Methodist Church and its Women's Society of Christian Service. Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Fannie Steinfield, Laura Griffin and her husband Peter, Doris Weddle and her husband Ed, and Sarah Forbes, all of Norfolk; two sons, Lawrence Stanfield and his wife Anne of Norfolk and Phillip Steinfield and his wife Betty of Virginia Beach; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Shirley Myers and Ann Marie Young. Mrs. Stanfield's family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Charles Lisner for his dedicated care, and also to the staff at Harbor's Edge for their love and compassion for their mother. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Ghent United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bill McClung. Burial will be private in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Following the service at the church, the family will host a reception at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club.
