Susan King Obituary

Susan L. King NORFOLK - Susan Leigh King, 54, a resident of Norfolk, and longtime employee of Bon Secours DePaul Hospital, came to rest with the Lord Sept. 4, 2009. Mrs. King is survived by her husband and soulmate, William R. King; two children: son, Robert King and daughter, Krislyn King Barden, both of Norfolk; four sisters, Linda M. Wright, Carol Mustgrave, Marie Bryan and Janie R. McCoy; and two grandchildren, Adalyn Barden and A.J. Barden. Not often in life are people blessed with knowing someone as special as "Susie." She was a wonderful wife, best friend, big sister, and mother who always put others needs before her own. An informal gathering in her honor will be held for all who knew and loved her to join together in a celebration of her life. She will truly be missed.

She will truly be missed. Susan made my wedding dress 15 years ago and we had so much fun doing it. I remember her getting mad at me because I wasn't cutting very straight. Just made her work harder, but it was beautiful and I will always have a piece of her with me.

To the family, I amso sorry for your loss but Susan is in a better place where there is no more pain and suffering. Susan and I met in the clinic at DePaul and grew to respect each other. She was very good and knowledgable in her job and in people and I will cherish and remember her kindness and joyful laughter.

Every one of us who knew her is a better person because of Susie. She was as much of a big sister to me as my own - and as good of a friend as one could ever want or ask for. Although she's left us for eternal joy - happiness, laughter, and peace surround her memories.
