Patricia Nelson Obituary

Patricia Ann Nelson VIRGINIA BEACH - Patricia Ann Nelson passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009. She was born in Mobile, Ala., as the only child to the late Harry and Mae McLendon. Patricia graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile in 1958, and was married to Robert A. Nelson of Le Center Minnesota in 1960. Patricia was a retired technical writer and more recently worked for American Management Systems from 1985 to 2001. She was a lifetime member of the National Home Gardening Club, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially being at the beach. Patricia was a devoted wife, a loving mother of three daughters with five grandsons, and a generous friend to many. She is survived by her husband, Robert Nelson; her daughters, Toni Nelson, Teri Jacoby and her husband Mark, and Traci Nelson; and her five grandsons, Logan and Tyler Irwin, and Connor, Gage and William Jacoby. She was a beautiful person, compassionate to all God's animals and cherished by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed as she enriched all of our lives with her wisdom. She will be cremated according to her wishes. A memorial service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach, Friday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m., open for family and friends to attend. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), www.aspca.org/donate/.
