Bobby Scott

Bobby Harrison Scott VIRGINIA BEACH - Bobby H. Scott passed away Sept. 6, 2009, at the age of 79. He was born in Norfolk, and lived in Virginia Beach most of his life. Bobby joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18 and traveled to many foreign shores during his 28 years of military service. He was a decorated veteran serving in the Korean War and Vietnam War, three tours. After retirement, Bobby was employed with Cook's Moving Service. Mr. Harold Cook and employees offered years of support during Bobby's illness, of which the family will always be grateful. Bobby was preceded by his wife, Barbara B. Scott; parents, Norman and Carrie Scott; and sisters, Norma Jean Jordan and Barbara Gibson. Bobby's memory will live on through his children, Deborah Mergi and Bobby "Corky" Scott, son-in-law Donald Mergi; grandchildren, Diana Mergi, Dustin Mergi and wife Cassandra; brother, Norman Scott Jr. and wife Cindy; sister, Shirley Radcliff and husband Robert; sister-in-law, Dora Balance; brother-in-law, Bill Brice; many nieces and nephews. The family will welcome visitation Thursday, Sept. 10, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 1264 Great Neck Road North, Virginia Beach. A funeral with military honors will be held at 6 p.m. at his graveside in Princess Anne Memorial Park, Great Neck Road North. Bobby supported American veterans.
