Queenie Sanderlin Obituary

Queenie E. Sanderlin VIRGINIA BEACH - Queenie E. "Pluke" Sanderlin, 78, passed away Sept. 15, 2009, at her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Sanderlin; son, Thomas Sanderlin; and a daughter, Dorothy Sanderlin. She is survived by four sons, Albert Sanderlin, James Sanderlin (Deborah), Nelson Sanderlin (Fatos) and Allen Sanderlin; two daughters, Diane Solomon (Walter) and Yvonne Glover (Earl Sr.); a daughter-in-law, Irene Sanderlin; 23 grandchildren; more than 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 21, at noon in Campbell Chapel AME Church, 3252 Indian River Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456 with a viewing one hour prior at the church. Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater is in charge. www.candfservices.com.

Everyone has memories of their grandmother that they hold deep in their hearts. Mine's in my grandmother's undying desire to be there not only for her children, but also for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. My son, niece, nephews and cousins were all blesssed to know their great-grandmother. I pray that they will cherish her memories as much as I do! I love you Grandmama! Thank you for all that you taught us through your strength, courage and desire to raise strong, intelligent, and independent men and women. The morals that you instilled in my mother, she passed on to me, my brother and sister and I thank God for them!
