Alice Marie Riddick CHESAPEAKE - Alice Marie Riddick, 69, of Grady Street, departed this life Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, after a short illness. Born Oct. 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Amanda Spady and Herbert Reid of Chesapeake. She was predeceased by a daughter, Charise Riddick of Chesapeake. Left to cherish her precious memory are her loving children, Sandra Murphy, Walter Riddick Jr., Byron Riddick, Terrance Riddick, all of Chesapeake and Sonora Murphy of Charleston, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and was given devoted love and care by her granddaughters, Kimberly Murphy and Jacqueline Murphy throughout her illness; husband, Walter Riddick Sr.; brother, Horace Minnefield and Irish Hodnett of Portsmouth; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was a shining star to many who loved her and will be greatly missed by all. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 26, in First Gospel Tabernacle Church, Chesapeake, with Bishop Jobie B.
