Thomas Manry

Thomas R. Manry VIRGINIA BEACH - Thomas R. Manry, 72, passed away Sept. 22, 2009 in his home. A native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., he was the son of the late William T. and Georgia C. Manry. He retired from G.E. Mobile Water as an electrician. He is survived by his precious wife of 22 years, Beverly T. Manry; his children, Belinda Medlin (Mike), Steve Manry (Trixie), Mont Shelton, Leah Tennant (Chris) and Mark Shelton (Mili); a sister, Iris Tatem (Tommy); a brother, Chris Manry (Cindy); 10 grandchildren, Brandon, Allison, Jonathan, Chris, Sarah, Brooke, Cole, Carson, Chandler and Glynis; three great-grandchildren; and other family, Ruth and Ronnie Harris. He was predeceased by two sons, Thomas Anthony Manry and Edwin Travis Manry. Beverly and Tom's love and devotion to each other have been a beautiful testimony to all. "There is Nothing - No Circumstance, No Trouble, No Testing - that can ever touch me until, first of all, it has gone through God and Christ, right through to me. I shall rest in the joy of what my Lord is." A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at Norview United Methodist Church, 112 Norview Ave., Norfolk, with the Rev. Joseph Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the church.
