Elena Head Obituary

Elena Lenora Head PORTSMOUTH - Elena Lenora Head, 78, of Bardot Court, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009. A native of Cuba, Elena was a devout Jehovah's Witness for 35 years and she attended the Cavalier Manor Congregation on Galberry Road. She is survived by her loving husband of more than 50 years, James E. Head; two daughters, Shirley J. Boyd and husband Eric of Portsmouth and Cora B. Williams and husband Jerome of Suffolk; three sons, Arnold A. Head of Norfolk, James A. Head of Norfolk and Edward A. Head of California; a sister, Matilda Rubaine of Cuba; four grandchildren, Dwynia L. Williams of Suffolk, Erika Crocker of Portsmouth, Marcus Williams of Petersburg, and Jessica Boyd of Portsmouth; three great-grandchildren, Anylah, Zashanti and Dameyon Williams, all of Suffolk; a niece, Mary Lou Smith of New Jersey; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at Kingdom Hall on Galberry Road, Chesapeake. Burial will be private. Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
