Leamond Wilson Obituary

Leamond Wilson Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Leamond Lanfred Wilson Sr., 71, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at a local hospital. Born in Virginia, he was the son of the late Arthur Wilson and Lillie Kissling. Leamond retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Poquoson, the Navy Musicians Association, Kiwanis Club, and Lynnhaven Masonic Lodge No. 220. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Sally L. Wilson; his son, Leamond L. Wilson Jr. and his wife Maggie of Georgia; his daughter, Kathleen Campbell and her husband Brett of Virginia Beach; stepdaughter, Heather Seggelink of Reedville, Va.; stepson, Eric Wickizer of Virginia Beach; two brothers, William Powell Wilson and Durwood Wilson; his sister, Brenda Williams; and nine grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, with the Rev. B.G. Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Colonial Grove Memorial Park with full military honors being accorded. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyer.com.
