Mary McGee Obituary

Mary Irene McGee NORFOLK - Mary Irene McGee, 79, of the 7400 block of Patrician Road, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at her home. Born in Princeton, W.Va. to the late Arthur and Edith Robinette, Mary attended Hyde Park Freewill Baptist Church and assisted her husband with the Oak Tree Point Ministry. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, seven days and three hours, James N. McGee; two daughters, Cindy Becker and Rena Carlan; a son, Bill Nelson and wife Lisa; six grandchildren, Bobby, Heather, George and wife Lauren, Lee, Cory and Lee Ann; and two great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Carol. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was "the best." The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Friends are welcome to meet the family at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home for a final visitation and procession to Forest Lawn Cemetery for burial at 11 a.m. The Rev. Terry Beck will officiate.
