Sallie Thebarge Obituary

Sallie Jane Thebarge NORFOLK - Sallie Jane Thebarge, 64, passed peacefully from this world to join other family on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009. She attended Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church and was a former employee for almost 20 years with The Pancake House in Wards Corner. Sallie enjoyed growing and cultivating her flowers and spending time with her pets. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Esther Ballance. She leaves to cherish her memory her faithful husband of 43 years, Louis J. Thebarge Jr.; two devoted sons, Robert Lee Thebarge, Lexington, N.C., and Michael Joseph Thebarge of Chesapeake; two beautiful grandchildren, Jonathan Lee and Maira Rose Thebarge; five sisters, Lee Holloman and her husband Tom, Betty Hamilton, Nellie Ray Ray, all of Princeton, N.C., Magdalene Hurtman and Geraldine Jones both of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, James Franklin (Buddy) Jones, Elton (Buck) Jones and his wife Vicki, Walter Earl Jones and Roy Rondal Jones, all of Princeton, N.C. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Father Joseph Metzger officiating final rites. There will be a reception following the interment at Woodlawn Funeral Home. The family suggests that may make a memorial donations to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association in her memory. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com.
