John Jones

John L. Jones CHESAPEAKE - John L. Jones, 50, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, in Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. Born in Fort Gordon, Ga., he was the son of Wanda L. Jones and the late Donald W. Jones. John served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at the Norfolk Naval Base for 22 years. He was a loving husband who will be remembered for his love of fishing and for being a valued friend and colleague. John is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sandy J. Jones; his mother; and two sisters, Becky Burnette and Kathy Davis. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Deep Creek United Methodist Church, 141 N. George Washington Highway, Chesapeake. The Rev. Jonathan Bennett will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
