Georgiana Doan

Georgiana D. Doan VIRGINIA BEACH - Georgiana Dahlman Doan, 78, of the Atlantic Shores Retirement Community, passed away after a lengthy illness, on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Georgie was born in Milwaukee, Wis., raised in Muskegon, Mich., and moved to Buffalo, N.Y., in the early 1950s, where she met her husband, Roland "Rolly" Doan Jr. They moved to Virginia Beach in 1955 and to Atlantic Shores in 2008. She was a wonderful mother to Roland "Lanny" Doan III (wife Diana Scofield), Susan Doan Prevoznak (husband Steve) and Sarah Doan Borshoff (husband Terry). She was a loving grandmother to Caleb and Conor Doan Kippy and Ben Prevoznak and Sonya, Cassie and Jenny Borshoff. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Dahlman and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in the Virginia Beach United Methodist Church, Pacific Avenue and 19th Street, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. Special thanks are given to the wonderful aides furnished by Home Instead Senior Care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Rotary International Foundation. Cremation Society of Virginia, Hampton Roads office, is assisting the family.
