George Gore Obituary

George W. Gore CHESAPEAKE - George W. Gore, 83, passed away in a local assisted living facility Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009. He was a devoted father to his three children and enjoyed fishing with his wife who passed away in 2000. He will be missed very much. Mr. Gore is survived by a daughter, Ellen Harshe and her husband Ron of Virginia Beach; two sons, George James Gore of Chesapeake and William Samuel Gore and his wife Bonnie of Canada; a sister, Edie Beffart and her husband Martin of South Carolina. Twiford Funeral Home of Great Bridge is handling arrangements. A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. The family wishes to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Carebridge Assisted Living facility and the Odyssey Hospice Organization and special thanks to Ada Whitley and her family for their support.
