Joseph Williams Obituary

Joseph Irvin Williams Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Joseph Irvin Williams Sr., 88, of the 4400 block of Prestige Lane, went to be with the Lord Oct. 17, 2009. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late George Irvin Williams and Dorothy Pearl Wright Williams and retired as a corporate insurance director with Farm Fresh Inc. He was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, a Past Master and 60-year member of Berkley Masonic Lodge No. 167, a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 35th Masonic District, a 50-year member of Norfolk Scottish Rite bodies, a 50-year member of Khedive Shrine Temple, and a Past Patron of Berkley Chapter No. 52, Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are his wife, Frances Eloise Williams; two sons, Joseph I. Williams Jr. and his wife Nancy of Chesapeake and Ray Williams and his wife Faith, all of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Benjamin Joseph Williams, Nicholas Todd Williams, James Matthew Williams, Melissa Ann Williams, and Cheryl F. Keith; two great- grandchildren; and a brother, Benjamin R. Williams of Virginia Beach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Celentano. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, with Dr. Prentis McGoldrick officiating. A private burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. Viewing at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, will be daily beginning today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Please share a memory with the family at www.grahamfuneralhome.com.
