Sylvia Lambert Obituary

Sylvia Marie Lambert SMITHFIELD - Sylvia Marie Mullens Lambert, 88, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a resident of Isle of Wight for 35 years. More recently, she made her home in Suffolk. Mrs. Lambert retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, as a supply specialist, after 20 years of service. She had a passion for doing crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles E. Lambert; a daughter, Phyllis Ausburne; six brothers and one sister. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Keith Lambert (Denise) of Smithfield; daughters, Wilma Lusk (Lacy) of Richmond, Carol Mayhew (Leonard) of Virginia Beach, Janice Stuckey (Mike) of Locust Hill, Va., June Golden of Suffolk, Margaret Turner of Portsmouth and Teresa Lambert of Smithfield; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A Life Celebration service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 22, in Colonial Funeral Home, with the Rev. Abi Foerster officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Park, Suffolk. Family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Isle of Wight Chapter, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
