Arnold Jones Obituary

Arnold Lee Jones III VIRGINIA BEACH - Arnold Lee Jones III, who was better known as Dobbie, 21, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2009 from injuries suffered after being struck by a car during the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2009. He was born Dec. 31, 1987 in Oakland, Calif. Surviving are his parents, Arnold and Tami Jones; two sisters, Somer Wilson and Brittany Montgomery and her son, Parker; maternal grandparents, Ray and Shirley Duncan; paternal grandmother, Jo Ann Jones; many aunts, uncles and cousins. His younger brother, Isiah, was taken earlier this year in April. Dobbie was a full-time student at Tidewater Community College and a part-time coach at Fame All-Star Cheerleading. A funeral will be held at Wave Church in Virginia Beach at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Dobbie Jones Memorial Fund. Donations can be made at any Towne Bank location or may be sent to Dobbie Jones Memorial Fund, c/o Linda Gerber, 295 Bendix Road, Suite 170, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. To the Jones Family-

I never knew your son's and they never knew me either. Hearing about these 2 stories was just such a shock. You have to appriciate everyday of your life and take nothing for granted. I am deeply sorry for your loss and could never fathom something so tragic to happen to anyone and i'm sorry that had to happen. No matter where they are they are always going to be looking down apon you and loving you still. Always remember that.

I am so, so very sorry for your loss. Though our paths crossed so many, many years ago, I have not forgotten your family. I was your sponsor when you received orders to Misawa, Japan and your boys were just babies when you arrived.
